Scott Capobianco, M.D.
Dr. Capobianco’s interest in medicine began as a teenager while working as a lifeguard in Laguna Beach. It strengthened during his 12 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Orange County Fire Department.
He received his Bachelor of Science degrees in both Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. While attending medical school at USC his love for obstetrics and gynecology was obvious and can still be seen today through his kind and supportive bedside manner. He graduated from the USC School of Medicine in 1990 and immediately entered his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at LA County/USC Medical Center.
Dr. Capobianco began his medical practice in Mission Viejo, California directly after residency and has been at Mission Hospital ever since. He was chairman of the Department of Women and Infants at Mission Hospital/Medical Center for 2007 and 2008. Dr. Capobianco specializes in high and low risk obstetrics as well as advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He has been involved in proctoring physicians who are new to the Da Vinci Robotic surgical procedures where he is able to pass along his knowledge and enthusiasm for advanced technology.
Dr. Capobianco was born and raised in Laguna Beach and resides there still today with his family. He and his wife, of more than 20 years, enjoy spending time with their two teenage children. His favorite past times involve going to the beach and playing volleyball, as well as biking and skiing.
As a founding member of Mission Ob/Gyn Medical Group, Dr. Capobianco has helped the practice grow from the original five physicians to the thriving practice it is today. Dr. Capobianco strives to treat each patient as an individual with the utmost respect. “I take pride in personally following up all results and treatment plans with each of my patients.”
